Development History:

Landmark projects like the Pingdingshan Nylon Cord Fabric Factory, later known as Shengma, introduced Japanese technology in the 1980s. In 1998, Pingdingshan Smarter Group brought Asahi Kasei's technology from Japan for nylon 66 salt production. Since 2016, INVISTA has launched projects in Shanghai for adiponitrile and nylon 66 chips.

Over the years, China has achieved self-sufficiency in key components like adipic acid, Diaminohexane, and nylon 66 chips. Shenma's nylon 66 production capacity has also gained global recognition.

Development Status:

Though overseas entities dominate the nylon 66 industry, the localization of adiponitrile production in China is making strides. This promises increased domestic production capacity in the future.

Adiponitrile, a crucial raw material for nylon 66, faces high production barriers and oligopoly among a few global players. INVISTA, with a significant market share, holds sway over the industry. Production disruptions, like the 2018 fire at Ossunde, can cause market fluctuations.

However, China's strides in adiponitrile production, including projects by Huafeng Group and Tencent Qixiang, signal a shift. With new production capacity, China aims to reduce its dependency on imports and bolster its nylon 66 industry.
